If you missed out on an AJ Bell Great North Run ballot place this year, don’t worry, you can still join us on the start line. There are lots of incredible organisations who would love to have you on their team at this year’s AJ Bell Great North Run. If you’re looking for a bucket list running event with an incredible Geordie welcome, the loudest and most supportive crowds around an epic 13.1 mile course jam-packed with entertainment and music, and a finish line party like no other, then the AJ Bell Great North Run is for you. Join 60,000 incredible participants in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne to fundraise, have fun, achieve a fitness goal, and join an amazing running community no matter your experience or ability.

Ballot Information
The 2025 January Ballot closed on Wednesday 15 January at 2pm, and the ballot has been drawn.
All entrants of the ballot have been sent an email confirming whether or not they have been successful. You can also use our ballot checker tool to check the status of your AJ Bell Great North Run ballot application. If you missed out on a ballot place, don’t worry, you can still join us on the start line by securing a charity place.

Information for Great North Run Members
If you’re a Great North Run member, you don’t need to enter the Ballot. AJ Bell Great North Run Members skip the ballot and guarantee a place on the start line of the Great North Run for 3 years. Anyone with a priority entry was contacted by email at the end of October with instructions on how to secure their priority place in the 2025 AJ Bell Great North Run. The deadline to register and pay for the priority entry (2pm on Monday 9 December 2024) has now passed.

What You Get
We have made the decision to introduce optional finisher tees to our Great Run events. You can choose to forgo a finisher tee shirt at the point of entry, and in lieu of this we will make a donation to the National Trust Woodlands Appeal. We will donate a portion of the fulfilment costs for each runner who chooses this option to the fund and commit that this donation to be approx. £20,000.
